CreativeMornings Kansas City exists to foster a community that sees and values creativity in all of life. Their free monthly gatherings welcome a variety of people from different disciplines to celebrate the creative work being done in our community. Creativity in Kansas City has a great history and an encouraging future that should inspire and challenge us toward better things.

About the speaker: 

Liz Cook is a freelance food writer and editor.

She has served as the restaurant critic for The Pitch since 2016 and also contributes to publications such Eater, Midwesterner, Bon Appetit, and Defector. Her writing has been anthologized in Best American Food Writing and received awards from the Association of Food Journalists and the Association of Alternative Newsmedia.

In her free time, she writes the experimental food newsletter Haterade, exploring everything from garlic-bread chapstick to edible packing peanuts to the history of the appletini.
