BARRY ANDERSON EXHIBITION OPENING: Conduit

Date: Aug 7th

Date: 7:00pm-9:00pm

Stop by our gallery this First Friday to embrace the wonder of Barry Anderson’s Conduit, a marriage of geological formations, crystalline structures, and celestial imagery to create environments where scale, space, and time become fluid.  Indulge in wine and bites on us while you soak up the cosmic energy of Barry’s work, as well as cinematic sounds of local musician, Christina Silvius.

Barry Anderson is a Kansas City–based artist working in video, animation, photography, and installation. His work explores how perception, memory, and meaning are shaped through space, time, and repeated visual experience. Using minimal gestures, looping structures, and immersive environments, Anderson examines the psychological and cultural systems embedded in architecture, landscape, and ritual, and the ways technology mediates how we see and inhabit the world. Barry Anderson’s work is held in numerous public and private collections, including the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Everson Museum of Art. Anderson is an associate professor of studio art and new media at the University of Missouri–Kansas City.
